Hey there! Happy New Year!!!! Actually, when does it become too late to say Happy New Year?
Welcome to a new year! I hope it is a prosperous one for you, and that’s why I write this to you today.
As usual, many of us write goals/plans at the beginning of the year that we give up on even before the first quarter ends. Today, I would like to discuss how we can increase the chances of achievement this year.
Accountability: The Ultimate Game Changer
Two are better than one, because they have a good return for their labor: If either of them falls down, one can help the other up. But pity anyone who falls and has no one to help them up.
Ecclesiates 4 v 9-10
Accountability is a form of support a lot of people ignore when planning.
- Who are you accountable to?
- Do you share your goals with friends/mentors with the hope they can support you?
- Do you actually even ask them for their support?
Proverbs 27:17“As iron sharpens iron, so one person sharpens another.”
This year, we can do it differently by asking for support. It’s important to note that a single person might not be able to handle accountability in all areas of your wheel of life.
- Choose people that you trust.
- Be open about what you intend to achieve and how (SMART goals).
- Tell them how you want them to support you; e.g., how often do you want to have a catch-up?
- Take advice, as no one really knows everything.
Whatever your goal is this year—from as little as going to bed at a certain time, keeping fit/improving your diet to raising millions of dollars for projects—you will find that being accountable helps you commit.
Prioritise
The hard truth we struggle to see is that we cannot do everything—not all at once.
This is why people tend to fail across the board; we set too high and too many targets. This year, choose what you prioritise, what can wait, and what has to be done now. Take them one at a time.
For instance, you might have debts and also plan to invest. You might be frustrated whilst trying to achieve both at once. So, you could pay off your debts first, then start to invest. I know it’s not always black and white for everything, but we could try where we can.
I hope you’ve enjoyed reading this. One of my goals is to blog more this year, so please give me a nudge if you don’t hear from me.
Please share this with your family and friends! I leave you with the peace of God.

Nudge nudge nudge. Thank you for writing this. Hugs
Amazing write up. well-done. I wish you more grace and inspiration.
That’s why when we are praying we should ask God for divine helpers to help us to achieve our goals.
Even to continue to learn from others helps you to know what you don’t know.
